Kim began her career in entertainment by working in the drama development department at A&E Television Networks in New York. At A&E, she oversaw Emmy Award winning long-form and series drama.
She graduated Magna Cum Laude with an M.F.A. in Production from USC's School of Cinema-Television in December, 2004. Kim co-founded and served as Vice President of USC's Entertainment Industry Network.
A writer/director attracted to the fantasy/escape genre, Kim was interested in writing West Bank Story because of the challenge it provided in taking a serious political issue and spinning it into a comedic, heartfelt, musical fantasy.
Kim's work has been performed at New York's famed 5 th Night Series and she is the recipient of many awards, including the Mary Pickford Production Scholarship , the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Internship Fellowship and the Lerner Finishing Funds Scholarship . She holds a B.A. in Film and Video Studies from University of Michigan.
Her USC thesis film, The Connection, is set in a future world where everyone communicates via a chip embedded in the brain and a young man must choose between being in love or being online. Kim's written a feature script based on the short that she plans to direct.
